Clouds Architecture Office designed an installation at the United Nations Headquarters for "Peace Is..." a series of events held by the Permanent Mission of Japan. People around the world are invited to fill out custom designed ‘Peace Postcards’ with their ideas imainging what peace means to them. An open ring of more than six hundred messages embraces visitors and rises up towards Sputnik, suspended above the installation.
Figure 1: The hinged structure can be folded flat for minimum storage and ease of deployment and transportation.
The event series will be staged multiple times in collaboration with various performing artists as the number of postcard messages increases.
